On Monday, Yvonne was honoured to attend a reception at The House of Lords to hear about the Small Business Charter and to represent the City of Derby.
It was hosted by Lord Young of Graffham and sponsored by Amazon.
Business schools and small businesses had travelled from all over the country to discuss the importance of collaboration. It was unanimous that SME’s are essential to the economy and they should not be overlooked when large institutions are deciding on tender bids.
It was interesting to hear how other Universities were integrating into the local business community.
Whilst there, I also caught up with my Small Business Saturday UK buddies. A lovely afternoon spent with familiar faces as well as meeting new ones.
