We are pleased to present a guest blog from Castle Donington-based, DBS Managed Offices. Here, they explain, “Why it is worth taking that little extra time to find your local suppliers”
“We firmly believe local SME’s should work together. When we needed some printing doing, several well known companies came to mind, but we decided to practice what we preach – and we enlisted the help of a local SME – Essential Print.
There are several key things to note about this experience. The staff were friendly, supportive and helpful. As the ‘client’ in the situation, it was nice to talk to someone who actually knew how my printing would be done – not some person in a call centre who knew nothing more than a price to quote. This is one of my favourite things about working with local SME’s – the personal relationships you build. We were in contact throughout the entire process, and even though my order was relatively small, they made me feel that our business was important. This gave us a sense of relief that our printing was being given the care, and attention to detail it needed.
Then there was the price. Before working for DBS, I laboured in the misconception that SME’s were more expensive than their larger, better known counterparts. This is occasionally true (though when you compare the quality, I’ve never known an SME to come second), however, with the majority of companies I’ve had the pleasure of doing business with, this has not been true. This was certainly the case with Essential print – their price beat the larger organisations by a substantial amount.
Next, the quality! We are very much impressed with the quality essential print provided! Despite the fact our order was last minute (leaving essential print a little over a week to complete), the quality was fantastic. My art work was measured up correctly and the printing itself was sharp, clear and bold. When I’ve distributed the printing at networking events, I’ve received nothing but compliments. Thanks Essential Print – you guys are great!”
Many thanks to DBS Managed Offices for taking the time to write this article for us.
