Here at Essential Print Services, we’re advocates of the small business community because we’re a small business ourselves and each year, our founder; Yvonne Gorman, organises a celebratory event in Derby for Small Business Saturday UK (SBSUK), which is happening this year on Saturday 7th December 2019.
Small Business Saturday UK Director, Michelle Ovens MBE recently invited Yvonne to participate in a survey, carried out peak b. The results have been compiled and with and the support of TSB and Indeed, the report highlights Small Businesses as creators of opportunities; they play a bigger role than just their financial contribution. Small businesses and their owners drive culture, improve the community such as bringing the long-term unemployed back into work.
“We need to tell small businesses that we recognise their quiet strength. We need to tell them that we are here for them and we will reward their hard work. And we need to tell them that they are not alone in this. There is an army of 5.5 million heroes across the country that can all work together and make the country stronger, more resilient and more optimistic. Let’s build some doors. I can hear that opportunity knocking,” said Michelle Ovens MBE.
Following the report, Michelle, who is a regular contributor to the prestigious Forbes website, issued a press release featuring none other than our very own opportunity creator, Yvonne Gorman! Read all about it here.
“As an organised and opportunity-obsessed small business owner, when Michelle asked me to take part in the telephone survey, I did it because it was an opportunity to help Michelle and to help highlight the amazing hard work that fellow small business owners do behind the scenes. Little did I know that a few weeks later, I would be featured in Forbes online!” commented Yvonne.
“I’d urge any small business owner to download the report from peak b. Not only does it include some fascinating insights but, many of the stories will no doubt resonate with you. I hope the report will provide some reassurances that you are not alone – help is out there,” Yvonne concluded.
