Here are five things to consider before making a print enquiry:
1) Size matters.
How big is the printed piece need to be? Will it be a standard ‘A’ size or perhaps a square flyer could be more impactful?
If you need a brochure or book printing; think about the number of pages. We will need to know the number of printed sides. For example, an A3 folded to A4 has four printed sides or panels, therefore, four printed pages (4pp).
Don’t know your A4s from your A5s? No problem. Email info@essentialprinting.co.uk for a copy of our sizing chart.
2) Quantity.
How many? Be realistic. Avoid asking for several quantities between 50 and 5000. For example, 250, 500 or 1000 is a reasonable request.
3) Distribution.
How will you distribute your order? If you plan to hand out the leaflets at an exhibition, estimate how many people you’re likely to encounter. If you intend to post a mailer, consider the cost of postage and also; whether you are going to follow up the mailer with a telephone call. How many calls can you achieve? Knowing how you will distribute your printed items will help to determine what materials to use.
4) Materials.
Think about paper weights and textures. What will be most suitable for the order and what will be consistent with your brand? What type of paper have you ordered previously?
If you’re uncertain about paper weights and textures, no problem. Chat with us and we can offer help and advice.
Don’t know your 130g silk from your 350g uncoated? No problem. Email info@essentialprinting.co.uk with your postal address for a free swatch pack.
5) Deadline.
How quickly do you need your print order? Promotional items such as pens and mugs take longer than business cards and flyers. Adding specialist finishes to a brochure, such as shiny Spot UV can also add on a day or two.
